Okay, so Spider-Man 2 on GBA—it’s not the open-world PS2 version, but don’t sleep on it. You’re still swinging through a surprisingly detailed (for the tiny screen) New York, thwipping between rooftops and stopping random crimes between story missions. The controls take a second to click—holding R to swing feels weird at first, but once you get the rhythm, you’ll be slinging around corners like it’s second nature.

Fights are punchy, with basic combos and that satisfying thwip sound when you web someone up. Some of the platforming bits get frustrating (why do helicopters always show up when you’re mid-swing?), but nailing a tricky jump or taking down Shocker before he wrecks a subway car feels legit. And yeah, the graphics are pixelated, but Spidey’s animations? Smooth as heck when he’s flipping off walls.

It’s got that early 2000s licensed-game jank in places, but if you’re into Spider-Man or just want a solid action-platformer for your GBA, this one’s way better than it had any right to be. Just watch out for those damn sniper thugs on rooftops.
