Soul Blade Game

Soul Blade on the Genesis is one of those fighters that just feels right—like the controller melts into your hands after a few rounds. You pick from a wild mix of warriors (I always went for the ninja first, no shame) and jump into these fast, brutal fights where every punch and sword swing has weight. The sprites are chunky in that perfect 16-bit way, and the stages have this cool dark fantasy vibe—think flickering torches and moonlit temples.
What surprised me was how much strategy sneaks in between the button mashing. Some characters are all about speed, others hit like a truck but move slow, and figuring out who clicks with your playstyle is half the fun. The music’s got that classic Sega synth energy too—you’ll hum the arena theme for days. It’s aged way better than most Genesis fighters, honestly. Just don’t blame me when you lose three hours to rematch mode.
