Alright, so Sonic Rush Adventure on the DS is basically Sonic meets Wind Waker—but way faster. You’re still blasting through loops and grinding rails like classic Sonic, but now you’ve got this little boat to sail between islands, which sounds chill until you realize you’re dodging whirlpools and racing pirate ships at 200 mph.
The first thing you’ll notice is how good it looks for a DS game—the sprites pop, and the levels have this pseudo-3D depth that makes the speed feel even crazier. And yeah, the controls are tight. No weird touch gimmicks, just pure dash-jump-dash with the occasional trick move to keep your boost meter full.
Boss fights are where it gets wild, though. One minute you’re outrunning a giant sea monster, the next you’re platforming on its back mid-chase. It’s the kind of game where you’ll finish a level, realize you missed half the shortcuts, and immediately restart just to shave seconds off your time.
If you’ve got a DS and even a passing interest in Sonic, this one’s a no-brainer.
