Rayman DS is one of those weirdly charming platformers where you’re bouncing around as a dude with no limbs—somehow it works. The levels are bright, chaotic, and packed with little secrets if you poke around. At first, the touch controls feel a little gimmicky (why does tapping the screen make Rayman punch?), but after a few minutes, you get into the rhythm of swinging from vines and dodging those weird, grinning enemies.
Some of the later stages get surprisingly tricky, especially when you’re trying to collect all the lums without getting smacked by a floating fish or whatever. It’s not the deepest game on the DS, but it’s got that classic Rayman energy—just pure, silly fun with a side of mild frustration when you miss a jump for the fifth time.
