Pokémon Stadium on N64 was the first time we got to see our little Game Boy monsters in full 3D glory, and man, did it feel like magic back then. You'd transfer your team from Red/Blue/Yellow and suddenly your pixelated buddies were throwing fireballs and doing backflips in proper arenas.
The battles play out like the classic turn-based fights you know, but with way more personality—seeing your Charizard actually breathe fire instead of just flashing the word "Flamethrower" never got old. There's this weird satisfaction in watching your carefully trained team from the Game Boy games wreck the CPU's premade squads.
It's not just about battles though. The minigames are stupidly fun with friends—ever tried mashing buttons to make a Lickitung eat sushi faster than your buddy? Yeah, that's a thing. The rental Pokémon system means you can jump right in even if you never played the handheld games, though bringing your own team definitely feels more rewarding.
Graphics are obviously dated now, but for 1999? Pure spectacle. Still holds up as a great couch multiplayer game if you've got the cart and some controllers.
