Pokémon Snap on the N64 is still one of the weirdest, most charming spin-offs in the series. Instead of battling, you’re just… taking pictures of Pokémon. Sounds simple, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about nailing the perfect shot—waiting for Pikachu to hop on that surfboard or catching Charizard mid-flame breath. The levels are these little diorama-like courses where Pokémon pop up in unexpected spots, and half the fun is figuring out how to trigger their cute (or sometimes chaotic) behaviors.
It’s got that classic N64 jank—the graphics are blocky, the controls take a second to get used to, and the professor grading your photos is hilariously harsh. But that’s part of the charm. If you ever wanted a Pokémon game where the stakes are just vibes and a high score, this is it.
