MySims on the DS is like a pocket-sized dollhouse where you get to build a whole town from scratch—except the neighbors actually have personality. You start by customizing your own little dude (or dudette), then it’s off to a run-down town that desperately needs your help. The first thing I did was slap down some weirdly shaped houses and watch these oddball villagers move in, each with their own weird requests. One asked for a "spooky-chic" café, another wanted a garden full of giant mushrooms. The building tools are simple but surprisingly fun—you’re basically stacking blocks like LEGO, but with way more pastel colors.

What’s cool is how the town changes based on who lives there. More artists? The place gets artsy decorations. More gamers? Suddenly there’s arcade machines everywhere. The dialogue’s goofy in that classic Sims way, and half the time I forgot I was supposed to be "fixing" the town because I got distracted making the ugliest furniture possible just to see if villagers would still use it (they do). It’s not deep, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your weird little world come alive.
