Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on DS is basically a pocket-sized superhero brawl fest. You start off picking your squad—Wolverine, Iron Man, Spider-Man, whoever—and then it’s straight into smashing robots, dodging lasers, and chaining together flashy team attacks. The fusion moves are the best part—like pairing Storm and Human Torch to summon a fire tornado, or watching Hulk and Thing just wreck everything in their path.
It’s not as deep as the console versions, but the combat still feels satisfying, especially when you nail a perfect combo. The story’s a stripped-down version of the Civil War arc, so expect some cheesy dialogue and questionable alliances. Honestly, half the fun is just seeing how weird your team comp can get before the game starts throwing ridiculous boss fights at you.
If you’ve got a DS and even a passing interest in Marvel, this one’s a solid time-killer for bus rides or waiting rooms. Just don’t expect it to replace the big-screen versions.
