Marvel Nemesis on the DS is basically a superhero brawler with a twist—you get to smash through levels as classic Marvel characters and these weird, original villains called the Imperfects. First few minutes in, you’re thrown into a fight as Spider-Man or Wolverine (obviously), but the real surprise is how clunky-but-fun the combat feels—like a portable version of those old arcade beat-em-ups, but with destructible environments and super moves that actually feel satisfying to pull off.
The roster’s a mix of obvious picks (Iron Man, Elektra) and some deep cuts, and the Imperfects… well, they’re hit or miss. One’s basically a dude with a flaming sword, another’s like a discount Venom, but hey, at least they switch up the usual Marvel vs. Marvel formula. The story’s forgettable, but who cares when you’re web-slinging into a punch mid-air? Just don’t expect depth—it’s pure button-mashing chaos, perfect for short bursts on the bus.
Also, pro tip: play on easy unless you enjoy getting wrecked by cheap AI. The DS version’s a stripped-down port, but it’s weirdly charming in its jankiness.
