Kirby Super Star Ultra is basically the DS remake of the SNES classic, but with way more polish and a bunch of extra stuff crammed in. You still get all the original mini-adventures—like the short-but-sweet Spring Breeze or the surprisingly tough Meta Knight’s Revenge—but now there’s new modes, better visuals, and even some co-op action.
What’s cool is how it throws so many different gameplay styles at you. One minute you’re inhaling enemies to steal their powers (Wheel Kirby is still my favorite), the next you’re racing through a shooter segment or teaming up with an AI buddy. The controls feel perfect for the DS, and the new animated cutscenes give it way more charm than the original.
If you’ve played the SNES version, the new content makes it worth revisiting. If you haven’t, this is easily the best way to experience one of Kirby’s weirdest, most varied adventures.
