Jankenman on Game Boy is basically rock-paper-scissors turned into a full-blown RPG, and somehow it totally works. You start off facing these weird little opponents—some look like angry vegetables, others like grumpy salarymen—and suddenly a simple childhood game feels weirdly intense.
The first few matches trick you into thinking it's pure luck, but then you notice patterns. That onion guy always throws scissors after two rocks, the office worker spams paper when he's low on health. Before long, you're leaning into the screen, sweating over whether to counter with rock or paper like it's some high-stakes duel.
It's got that classic Game Boy charm—simple sprites, crunchy sound effects, and just enough strategy to make you feel clever when you win three matches in a row. I lost way too much time to this as a kid, and honestly? Still holds up.
