Man, this one takes me back. "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers On GB" is pure 90s nostalgia—side-scrolling through levels as your favorite Ranger, punching Putties, and occasionally morphing to wreck bosses with your signature weapon. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy title—you can actually tell Jason’s red armor from Zack’s black.
It’s not super deep—just jump, attack, and occasionally spam your special move when the meter fills—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about how chunky the hits feel. The Green Ranger’s dragon dagger slash has this little screen shake that makes it feel heavier than it should. Also, the music? Basically the show’s theme on a Game Boy sound chip, which is both terrible and amazing.
If you played this as a kid, it’s like digging up a time capsule. If you didn’t, it’s a decent (if simple) beat-’em-up with a thick layer of cheesy charm. Just don’t expect a hidden masterpiece.
