About Superman (usa, Europe)
Superman for the Game Boy came out in 1999, published by Titus Interactive. It arrived late in the handheld's life, a time when developers were still finding new ways to build action games for the small screen. You take on the role of Superman, tasked with stopping a plot by Lex Luthor and Brainiac.
You control Superman through side scrolling levels, flying and punching through robots and other enemies. The main goal is to progress through each stage, defeating bosses and rescuing civilians along the way. Your health is tied to a constantly draining power meter, which you must replenish by collecting energy orbs scattered in the environment. This creates a persistent pressure, forcing you to keep moving. The game can be quite difficult, with some enemy patterns requiring precise timing to overcome. Playing it feels like a constant race against your own diminishing strength.
