Super Mario Land DX is a color-hacked version of the original Game Boy classic, and honestly, it’s way more fun to look at now. The sprites pop with actual colors instead of that murky greenish-gray, and Mario’s overalls finally look red instead of… whatever that was. Same tight platforming, same weird enemies (those bouncing Moai heads still crack me up), but with a fresh coat of paint that makes it feel less like squinting at an old calculator.

You’ve got the same four worlds, the same floaty-but-satisfying jumps, and that weird submarine level that always throws me off.
