The Simpsons : Bart & The Beanstalk Game

Remember that weird Game Boy era where every cartoon got a platformer? The Simpsons: Bart & The Beanstalk is exactly that—a goofy, slightly janky take on Jack and the Beanstalk with Bart as the star. You’ll jump between wobbly beanstalk platforms, bonk enemies with… whatever that weapon is supposed to be (a slingshot? A stick?), and dodge random hazards like falling anvils because of course Springfield’s logic applies even in fairy tales.
The first level throws you right into it—Bart trades a cow (probably Milhouse) for magic beans, and suddenly you’re climbing skyward past clouds that look like they were drawn in five minutes. The sprites are tiny and weirdly stiff, but there’s charm in spotting Homer’s face plastered on a giant coin or fighting a boss that’s just a very angry Mr. Burns in a crown.
It’s not the tightest platformer out there, but if you grew up with a Game Boy in your pocket and Simpsons reruns on TV, this one’s a nostalgia trip worth grinning through. Just don’t expect the beans to grow into anything deeper than a silly 90s licensed game.
