If you're into Fullmetal Alchemist, this DS game is a solid little action brawler with some fun twists. You play as Ed or Al (or other characters later), smacking around homunculi and soldiers with quick combos and alchemy moves—flame bursts, earth spikes, all that good stuff. The touch screen actually matters here, letting you draw transmutation circles mid-fight, which feels way cooler than just button mashing.
Story mode follows the anime’s early arcs, so expect familiar faces and some decently animated cutscenes squeezed onto those tiny screens. The platforming bits can be janky, and the camera occasionally fights you, but chaining alchemy attacks never gets old. Unlockable characters like Mustang and Armstrong add replay value if you’re into score attacks.
It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but for a licensed game, it nails the vibe of throwing hands as a tiny angry alchemist.
