FIFA 11 on the DS is one of those games that makes you wonder how they squeezed a decent soccer sim into a tiny cartridge. The controls are surprisingly smooth—you’ve got your basic passes, shots, and even some skill moves mapped to the touchscreen. Graphics are obviously scaled down, but player animations are fluid enough that matches don’t feel like a slideshow.
What’s cool is how they handled team management. You can tweate formations and subs mid-game without drowning in menus. And yeah, it’s got all the official leagues and kits, so playing as your favorite club actually feels legit. Just don’t expect the same depth as the console versions—this one’s more about quick matches on the go.
If you’re into handheld sports games, this one holds up better than you’d think.
