F-1 World Grand Prix on N64 is one of those racers that nails the feel of Formula 1 without being brutally punishing. The cars actually handle like they’ve got weight to them—you can feel the difference between taking a corner flat-out or easing off the throttle. Tracks like Monaco are ridiculously tight, just like the real thing, and messing up a chicane means eating barrier.
What surprised me was how the AI actually races you instead of just following a script. They’ll defend positions, make mistakes under pressure, and sometimes dive bomb a gap if you leave it open. Graphics were solid for the N64, with those classic low-poly grandstands and blurry sponsor billboards flying by at 200mph. Not quite sim-level, but way more engaging than most arcade racers at the time.
Still holds up if you’re into that late ‘90s F1 vibe—just don’t expect assists or rewind features.
