Dragon Ball Kai - Ultimate Butouden is one of those DS fighters that actually feels good to play—not just another rushed anime cash-grab. The second you boot it up, you're thrown right into the action with Goku and Vegeta duking it out, and the controls just click. Combos flow naturally, and pulling off a Kamehameha actually feels as satisfying as it should.
What surprised me was how much depth there is for a portable fighter. You've got assists, counters, even dramatic finishers ripped straight from the show. The roster's stacked with all the usual suspects (yes, even Yamcha), and they all play differently enough that messing around with team comps stays interesting. My only gripe? The AI can be brutal if you're not careful.
If you ever wanted a Dragon Ball game that nails the speed and flash of the anime without drowning in complicated mechanics, this is it. Just don't blame me when you lose track of time trying to master Perfect Cell's moveset.
