Superman for the Nintendo 64 came out in 1999 from Titus Interactive. It was a time when 3D platformers and action games were everywhere, and this was one of the attempts to bring a major superhero into that space. You could tell developers were still figuring out how to make these worlds work, and this game was part of that learning process, for better or worse.

You control Superman, and your main goal is to stop Darkseid's invasion of Metropolis. The gameplay involves a lot of flying through the city, fighting robots and other enemies with your heat vision and punches. A big part of the game is finding and destroying the bombs Darkseid has planted, which requires you to navigate the environment screen by screen. The controls for flying and combat can be difficult to manage, and the level design sometimes feels confusing, which adds to the challenge. It feels like a constant struggle against the game's own mechanics as much as against the enemies on screen.
