Clay Fighter 64 is one of those weird, goofy N64 fighters that sticks with you just because of how bizarre it is. The whole thing looks like it was sculpted out of clay—characters wobble when they move, punches send little chunks flying, and even the stages have this lumpy stop-motion vibe. It’s janky in that late-‘90s way, but that’s part of the charm.
You’ve got fighters like a stretchy blue blob, a sumo snowman, and a kung-fu cactus, each with totally over-the-top moves. The controls aren’t as tight as something like Tekken, but who cares when you’re slapping someone with a giant disembodied hand? It’s the kind of game you throw on when you just want to laugh with friends between more serious matches. The announcer yelling "CLAY-TASTIC!" after a knockout never gets old.
If you dig fighters that don’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a riot—just don’t expect tournament-level balance. Half the fun is seeing how ridiculous the animations get.
