Call of Duty: Black Ops on DS is... well, it’s definitely a handheld FPS, which is already kind of wild. You’ve got the usual Black Ops story—Cold War conspiracies, covert missions—but crammed onto a tiny screen. The controls take some getting used to (good luck aiming smoothly with a stylus), but once you adjust, it’s surprisingly playable for a DS shooter.
Expect short, bite-sized missions with objectives like clearing out enemy bunkers or sniping targets. The graphics are obviously scaled way back, but the atmosphere still works—tense music, radio chatter, that COD feel. Multiplayer’s there too, though good luck finding anyone still playing it. Honestly, it’s more impressive that they pulled this off on a DS than anything else.
If you’re curious about handheld FPS experiments, this one’s a weird little time capsule.
