Bangai-O on N64 is pure chaos in the best way possible. You pilot this tiny mech that somehow fires hundreds of missiles at once—screen-filling explosions, enemies everywhere, and somehow you're supposed to dodge all of it. The first few levels trick you into thinking it's just a shoot-em-up, then suddenly you're ricocheting bullets off walls to hit enemies around corners.
What really gets me is how the game makes you think differently about space. That cramped corridor? Actually an advantage when your shots bounce. That swarm of 50 drones? Perfect for chaining ridiculous combos. It’s one of those games where dying feels fair—you’ll immediately know it was your fault for not timing that reflect shot right.
Also, the soundtrack slaps. Nothing like dodging lasers to some crunchy electronic beats. If you like games that reward creativity over brute force, this one’s a hidden gem.
