Wizard Of The Immortal (japan) Game

Wizard of the Immortal is one of those weird, obscure Genesis RPGs that never made it out of Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this dark fantasy vibe that feels way ahead of its time. You start off as this immortal wizard (shocking, I know) who’s basically stuck in a cycle of reincarnation, and the whole game plays like a mix of turn-based battles and dungeon crawling with some seriously moody pixel art.
First thing you’ll notice? The music. It’s got these haunting synth tracks that make even the early dungeons feel eerie. Combat’s pretty straightforward at first—pick spells, whack monsters—but later on, you’re juggling different elemental magic and party setups. Took me a few tries to figure out which spells actually worked against certain enemies, but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying.
If you’re into retro JRPGs with a darker tone, this one’s a hidden gem. Just don’t expect a fan translation to hold your hand.
