Man, Wario Blast is such a weird little gem. It’s basically Bomberman but with Wario shoved into it—which sounds like a lazy cash grab, but somehow it works? You’ve got the same maze-bombing chaos, but now Wario’s there, grinning like he just stole your lunch money.
The first few levels ease you in—drop bombs, blow up walls, try not to get cornered by those weird balloon enemies. Then the power-ups start popping up: longer explosions, remote detonation, even a weird skateboard thing that makes Wario zoom around like a maniac. The controls are tight, but the screen’s so tiny you’ll occasionally blow yourself up just because you misjudged the spacing.
Multiplayer’s where it really shines, though. Two-player link cable battles with Wario and Bomberman going at it? Absolute chaos. Half the time you’re laughing too hard to aim properly. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got that classic Bomberman charm with just enough Wario nonsense to feel fresh. If you dig retro handheld stuff, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
