Bomberman GB 3 is one of those classic Game Boy titles that somehow flew under the radar outside Japan. It’s got that same addictive grid-based chaos you’d expect—drop bombs, blow up walls, and try not to get cornered by your own explosions. But this one throws in a few twists, like power-ups that actually change how you play instead of just making your bombs bigger.
First few minutes in, you’re just figuring out the timing, but then you start unlocking weird little upgrades—some let you kick bombs across the screen, others give you a shield for a second or two. The AI isn’t brutal, but it’s sneaky enough to punish you if you get careless. And yeah, you can totally play this on an emulator now, but it still feels like that old-school handheld experience.
If you’ve ever wasted an afternoon with Bomberman, this one’s a solid deep cut.
