Bomberman GB 3 is one of those Game Boy gems that still holds up—simple, chaotic, and way more strategic than it looks at first glance. You start off in these tight little mazes, dropping bombs to blast through walls and enemies, but half the time you’re also trying not to corner yourself. The controls are snappy, and the pixel art has that classic Bomberman charm, all big-headed little guys and satisfying explosions.
What really makes it shine is the multiplayer—if you’ve got a link cable and a friend, it turns into this frantic race to trap each other or steal power-ups. The single-player campaign gets surprisingly tough later on, with enemies that actually make you think before spamming bombs. It’s not just mindless destruction, though that’s definitely part of the appeal. If you’ve got a Game Boy and even a passing interest in retro multiplayer mayhem, this one’s a no-brainer.
