About Bomberman 3
I picked up Bomberman GB 3 on the Game Boy back in 1997, a time when the handheld was full of these quirky, deep adventures. It was developed by Hudson Soft, and it felt like a step beyond the simple maze games the series was known for. This one had a bigger world to get lost in.
You control Bomberman, navigating through interconnected screens in an overhead view. Your main goal is to explore the world, clear areas of monsters by placing bombs, and collect the five elemental stones. The game introduces a sword for close combat, which changes how you deal with enemies, and you gather new bomb types and power-ups that open up different paths. The pacing is deliberate, with some tricky enemy placements that make you plan your moves carefully. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes tense puzzle where every screen is a new challenge to solve.
