Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 is one of those N64 wrestling games that just feels right—especially if you’re into the Japanese wrestling scene. The roster’s stacked with puroresu legends, and the grappling system’s way deeper than your typical "mash buttons to win" setup. At first, I kept getting countered because I was too aggressive, but once you learn the timing, reversals feel so satisfying.
What really hooked me was the customization. You can tweak everything from move sets to ring entrances, and some of the hidden wrestlers are wild (ever wanted to fight as a sumo wrestler or a luchador?). Matches get chaotic in the best way, especially in 4-player mode where someone always ends up getting suplexed off the top rope.
It’s aged better than most N64 sports titles, and if you’re tired of arcade-y wrestling games, this one’s got the weight and strategy to keep you invested.
