Alright, so The Karate Kid on NES—yeah, the one based on the movie. It’s… not exactly a masterpiece, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. You start off punching and kicking your way through these side-scrolling levels, trying to dodge bullies and break stuff for points. The controls are stiff (like, really stiff), but once you get used to them, it’s kinda fun in a janky way.
Oh, and the tournament at the end? That’s where things get brutal. The AI suddenly turns into a karate master, and you’ll probably lose a few times before figuring out the timing. Crane kick all the way, though—just don’t expect it to feel as epic as the movie.
If you’re playing online, Z and X handle your punches and kicks, but good luck nailing combos without feeling like you’re fighting the controls more than the enemies.
