Popeye on NES is one of those classic arcade-style games where you’re running around grabbing hearts, musical notes, or spelling out "HELP" while Brutus (yeah, not Bluto—weird, right?) chases you down. The controls are simple—just walk and punch, no jumping—but that spinach power-up is a lifesaver. Punch the can, and suddenly you’re the one sending Brutus flying.
It’s got that old-school charm where the levels loop if you take too long, and the music sticks in your head for days. The first time I played, I totally missed the spinach and got wrecked. Lesson learned: always keep an eye out for that can.
Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with the cartoon or just love weird NES quirks.
