Super Soukoban on SNES is one of those deceptively simple games—you’re just pushing boxes around a warehouse, right? But five minutes in, you’ll realize you’ve backed yourself into a corner because you didn’t think three moves ahead. The first few levels ease you in, but soon enough, you’re staring at the screen, mentally mapping out every possible move before even touching the D-pad.
The pixel art is clean, almost minimalist, but it works—no distractions, just you and the puzzle. And the music? Weirdly catchy for something so repetitive. I’ve caught myself humming it hours later. Some levels feel impossible until that “aha” moment hits, and suddenly you’re sliding crates like some kind of warehouse wizard.
It’s the kind of game you play for “just one more level” at 1 AM, even though you know that level 27 is going to wreck you. If you like puzzles that make you feel smart (and occasionally very dumb), this one’s a classic for a reason.
