Super Bowling on the N64 is one of those weirdly satisfying bowling games that somehow nails the feel of rolling a strike better than most. The lanes have this slightly exaggerated, almost cartoony look—think neon colors and over-the-top pin reactions—but the physics actually make sense once you get used to them. Took me a few frames to stop chucking the ball straight into the gutter, but once you figure out the spin controls, pulling off a perfect curve feels great.
There’s a surprising amount of variety in the lanes, too. Some have these ridiculous obstacles or weird slopes that mess with your usual strategy, which keeps things from getting stale. And if you’ve got a friend around, the multiplayer turns into a hilarious back-and-forth of near-misses and last-minute comebacks. Not the deepest sports sim out there, but way more fun than it has any right to be.
