StarCraft 64 is basically the full PC experience crammed onto a Nintendo 64 cartridge—somehow. You get the original game and Brood War, which is wild considering how much slower the N64 was. The controls take some getting used to (good luck microing Zerglings with a D-pad), but once you adjust, it’s still that same brutal RTS you know—just with chunky low-res sprites and a soundtrack that sounds like it’s being played through a tin can.
Picking between Terrans, Zerg, or Protects feels just as weighty as ever, though good luck pulling off a proper rush when everything moves at half-speed. The campaign’s all here, complete with those cheesy-but-lovable FMV cutscenes. Honestly, it’s more of a novelty now, but back in the day? This was basically black magic.
Still holds up if you’re nostalgic or just want to suffer through N64-era pathfinding.
