Serpent Game

Okay, so Serpent on Game Boy is exactly what it sounds like—that old-school snake game you probably played on a Nokia phone, but now it’s in your pocket with that sweet, crunchy pixel aesthetic. You start off with this tiny little snake, just a few blocks long, and the goal is simple: eat the dots, grow longer, don’t crash into yourself or the walls. Sounds easy, right? Wait until you’re zigzagging at full speed with half the screen taken up by your own tail.
What I love is how it nails that classic arcade feel—no tutorials, no fluff, just pure "how long can you last" tension. The controls are tight (d-pad only, obviously), and the beeps and bloops are straight out of the ‘90s. It’s the kind of game you pick up for five minutes and suddenly realize you’ve been grinding for high scores for an hour. If you’ve got a Game Boy and a soft spot for simple-but-brutal arcade games, this one’s a no-brainer.
