Alright, so Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem on the GBA is basically like playing through a lost episode of the show—but you’re in control. You start off in the Mystery Machine, rolling up to some haunted amusement park (classic), and right away, you’re splitting up to poke around for clues. Shaggy and Scooby handle the cowardly stuff, Daphne and Fred do the serious investigating, and Velma… well, she’s Velma, so she’s already three steps ahead.
The puzzles aren’t brain-melters, but they’re satisfying—like figuring out how to distract a ghost so you can sneak past, or matching up torn pieces of a map. And yeah, there are traps. So many traps. You’ll get used to mashing buttons when a chandelier drops or a wall starts closing in. The art style nails that early 2000s cartoon look, and the music? Total nostalgia trip.
It’s not perfect—some of the platforming feels a little stiff, and the villain reveals are predictable if you’ve seen, like, two episodes of the show. But honestly? That’s part of the charm. If you ever wanted to yell “Jinkies!” unironically while playing a game, this is your chance.
