Man, Same Game On SNES takes me back—those chunky pixels, the satisfying *plink* sound when you clear a group of blocks, and that weirdly tense music that speeds up as the board gets emptier. At first glance, it’s just matching colors, but then you realize you’ve been staring at the same grid for 20 minutes trying to plan the perfect chain reaction.
What I love is how it tricks you into thinking it’s easy. "Oh, just tap the blue ones," until suddenly you’re down to three scattered clusters and no moves left. The SNES version has this weirdly crisp feel to it—like the colors pop just right, and the controls are snappier than some of the later ports. Also, no lie, I still haven’t topped my high score from 1994.
If you’ve got a thing for puzzle games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.
