Run Saber on SNES is basically what happens if Strider had a slightly less cool but still hyper-fast little brother. You pick one of two cyber-warriors (Allen’s the balanced one, Sheena’s quicker but frailer—I always go Allen because I like surviving more than three hits) and then just go. Walls? Slice through 'em. Robots? Slice through 'em. Giant mutant... things? You get the idea.
The controls are stupidly smooth—your character sticks to walls like Spider-Man, and the sword swings feel weighty without slowing you down. First time I played, I accidentally backflipped off a platform into a pit, but by level 2, I was chaining air combos like some kind of neon ninja. Also, the music slaps in that crunchy 16-bit way where you’ll hum it for days.
It’s short (like, beat-it-in-an-afternoon short), but the last boss is a proper "throw your controller" challenge. Perfect for when you want that old-school action fix without the grind.
