Rocket - Robot on Wheels is one of those N64 gems that flew under the radar but absolutely deserves more love. You play as this little maintenance bot named Rocket, trying to fix up a futuristic amusement park gone haywire after the main AI goes rogue. The first thing that hits you is how good the physics feel—you’ve got this grappling hook tool early on, and swinging around just has this satisfying weight to it.
What really sets it apart is how creative the puzzles get. One minute you’re using a paint gun to change object properties (metal becomes bouncy, wood turns slippery), the next you’re rewiring roller coasters or balancing on floating platforms. The levels are packed with little interactive details, like bumper cars you can hijack or weird NPCs that just… exist, like a hot dog vendor who’s way too into his job.
It’s got that classic N64 charm—bright colors, slightly janky camera, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts funky and chaotic. If you’re into 3D platformers that actually make you think, this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one spinning-log puzzle for half an hour.
