Robot Poncots 64 is one of those weird, charming N64 games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this offbeat energy I haven’t seen in many other adventure games. You play as these little robot critters (the "Poncots") who have to solve puzzles across seven candy-colored seas, and yeah, the whole thing feels like a Saturday morning cartoon mixed with a logic puzzle book.
The first thing you’ll notice is how bright and playful everything looks, like someone dumped a bag of gummy bears into a 3D platformer. The puzzles start simple—pushing blocks, flipping switches—but later levels get surprisingly clever, especially when you’re juggling multiple Poncots with different abilities. One’s a tank, another can fly… figuring out who does what is half the fun.
It’s not perfect—the controls feel a little stiff by today’s standards, and the camera fights you sometimes—but there’s something really satisfying about how the game rewards experimentation. If you’re into obscure N64 gems, this one’s worth digging up.
