Puggsy is one of those weird little Genesis games that sticks with you—part platformer, part physics puzzle, and all charm. You play as this chubby little alien who crash-lands on Earth, and suddenly you're stacking crates, tossing bombs, and figuring out how to use random objects just to get through each level. The first time I played, I spent way too long trying to brute-force a jump before realizing I could just drag a box over to climb on.
What makes it special is how interactive everything feels. You can pick up almost anything, and half the fun is experimenting—like realizing you can use a balloon to float across gaps or that some objects weigh just enough to trigger switches. The art's got that early '90s Sega vibe, all bright colors and squishy animations, and the music somehow makes even the most frustrating puzzles feel cheerful. It's the kind of game where you'll fail a jump for the tenth time and still chuckle at Puggsy's little grunt when he faceplants.
Definitely not your typical platformer, but that's why it's still worth playing today. Just don't blame me when you get stuck on that one level with the moving platforms and the disappearing blocks.
