Pong: The Next Level on Game Boy Color is exactly what it sounds like—classic Pong, but with just enough weirdness to make it feel fresh. You start with the usual back-and-forth paddle action, but then power-ups start dropping, turning the ball into a fireball or splitting it into three. Sometimes the screen flips upside down, just to mess with you.
The pixel art has that chunky GBC charm, and the AI opponents actually put up a decent fight after the first few rounds. I lost my first match because I underestimated how slippery the "ice mode" paddle physics would be. There’s something satisfying about the *clink* sound when you nail a perfect return.
It’s still Pong at heart, but the little twists keep you from zoning out. Perfect for short bursts between bus stops or pretending to pay attention in class.
