Okay, so Pingu on Game Boy is exactly as weird and charming as you'd hope. You start off sliding around on ice, doing that little waddle-run Pingu does, and yeah—it nails the vibe of the old claymation show. The first level throws some simple block puzzles at you, but the real fun is just messing around, making Pingu do his signature "noot noot" whenever you feel like it.
Some of the jumps feel a little stiff (it is a Game Boy platformer, after all), but the levels are short and sweet. There’s this one stage where you’re pushing fish around to solve puzzles, and I totally got stuck for a minute because I didn’t realize you could headbutt certain blocks. Classic Pingu logic.
If you grew up with the show, it’s a nostalgia trip—the music’s got that same playful, slightly offbeat tone. If you didn’t? It’s still a cute, simple little game with way more personality than most licensed titles from that era. Just don’t expect a deep challenge.
