Okay, so The New Tetris on N64 isn’t just the same old falling blocks—it actually gives you something to aim for besides survival. Yeah, you’re still clearing lines, but now you can slot matching pieces together to build these big, flashy gold and silver blocks that nuke multiple rows at once. Feels way more satisfying than regular Tetris when you pull it off.
Multiplayer’s where it really shines, though. You’re not just racing to outlast someone—you’re stealing their combos if you’re fast enough, and the screen gets chaotic in the best way. First time I played, my friend kept sabotaging me by dumping garbage rows right as I was setting up a huge gold block. Rude, but hilarious.
Single-player’s got this marathon mode where the music slowly builds as you play, and it weirdly makes stacking blocks feel epic. Still holds up if you’re into that old-school puzzle vibe with a little extra strategy.
