About Nba Live 96 (usa, Europe)
NBA Live 96 came out for the Sega Genesis in 1995, published by Electronic Arts. This was right in the middle of the 16-bit era, when sports games were really starting to figure out how to translate the speed of basketball onto a home console. It was the game to have if you were into basketball at the time.
You control a full team of five players, switching between them to run plays, set picks, and drive to the basket. The main goal is to outscore your opponent, of course. A couple of its standout features were the isometric view, which gave you a better angle on the court than the standard side view, and the turbo button for quick bursts of speed. The game moved fast, and the computer could be relentless on defense, making you work for every open shot. It felt responsive and fluid, like you were actually directing the flow of a real game from your controller.
