Mortal Kombat 4 on N64 was the first time the series went full 3D, and honestly? It’s a weird but fun transition. You’ve got all the classic gore and fatalities, but now with awkwardly stiff movement and weapons that feel kinda tacked on—like, why does Sub-Zero suddenly have an ice sword? Still, there’s something charming about the janky polygons and over-the-top violence.
The roster’s a mix of old favorites (Scorpion, Raiden) and some forgettable new faces (looking at you, Jarek). The stages are cool though—fighting on a wobbly bridge while skeletons pop out of the lava never gets old. Just don’t expect it to play as smooth as the arcade version.
It’s rough around the edges, but if you grew up with this one, the nostalgia hits hard.
