Mike Piazza's Strike Zone is one of those N64 baseball games that actually feels like you're playing ball, not just mashing buttons. The pitching mechanics have this nice weight to them—fastballs feel fast, and curveballs actually break. And yeah, obviously, you get to play as Piazza, which is great if you're into that mid-90s Mets energy.
First thing you’ll notice? The fielding isn’t as janky as some other N64 sports games. Outfielders move smoothly, and diving for catches actually works most of the time. Batting takes a second to get used to—timing matters way more than you’d think—but once you get it down, hitting a homer off a high fastball feels stupidly satisfying.
It’s not the flashiest baseball game out there, but if you want something that plays solid without a ton of gimmicks, this one holds up better than most from that era.
