Micro Machines on the Sega Genesis is one of those games that just feels different—you’re racing tiny cars on tabletops, bathtubs, even breakfast tables with cereal boxes as obstacles. The top-down view makes it chaotic in the best way, especially when you’re barely squeezing past a pencil or dodging a rolling marble.
At first, the controls take a second to click—you slide around corners like you’re on ice, but once it clicks, weaving through kitchen utensils at full speed is weirdly satisfying. The two-player mode is where it really shines, though. Nothing beats shoving your friend into a pool of milk or watching them wipe out on a ruler bridge.
It’s simple, ridiculous, and still holds up if you’re into that old-school, no-frills racing vibe. Just don’t blame me when you start seeing everyday objects as potential racetracks.
