Okay, so picture this: you're Michael Jackson in a sparkly jacket, moonwalking through neon-lit streets straight out of a music video. That's Moonwalker on Genesis. The first level drops you into the "Smooth Criminal" alley brawl, and yeah—you fight by dancing. Enemies just freeze when you bust a move, which feels ridiculous in the best way possible.
The controls take a second to click—hold down and tap a button to moonwalk, which is weirdly satisfying once you get it. Some levels turn into these top-down shooter sections where you throw magic orbs (because why not?), and others have you rescuing kids hidden in closets or under tables. The whole thing oozes that late '80s MJ vibe, right down to the digitized "hee-hee!" sound effects.
It’s janky by modern standards, but the soundtrack slaps (obviously), and there’s nothing else like it. You either love the absurdity or bounce off hard. I still hum "Beat It" every time I play the factory level.
