Kirby 64 is one of those games that just oozes charm from the moment you start. You’re immediately thrown into these bright, bouncy levels where Kirby waddles around inhaling enemies—classic stuff. But here’s the twist: you can mix and match powers to create wild combos, like a flaming sword or an electric bomb. Some of them feel totally OP, but in the best way.
The levels are short and sweet, packed with little secrets if you poke around. I remember getting stuck on a few of the later stages—those crystal shards can be sneaky—but the music and art are so cheerful it’s hard to stay frustrated. It’s not the hardest platformer out there, but there’s something satisfying about plowing through enemies with your weird hybrid abilities.
If you’ve played other Kirby games, this one feels like a natural step into 3D without losing that classic feel. And if you haven’t? It’s a great place to start—simple controls, no convoluted story, just pure, pastel-colored chaos. Still holds up surprisingly well for an N64 game.
