Jet Force Gemini is one of those N64 games that sticks with you—part shooter, part weirdly satisfying bug-hunting simulator. You play as a trio of space mercenaries (Jun, Vela, and their robot dog Lupus) blasting through alien-infested planets to stop some intergalactic warlord named Mizar. The controls take a second to click—tank-style aiming feels clunky at first, but once you get the hang of it, popping ant-like drones with the tri-rocket launcher is stupidly fun.
What’s cool is how the game keeps switching things up. One minute you’re platforming through lava caves, the next you’re rescuing fuzzy little Tribals (who, fair warning, die instantly if you accidentally shoot them). And yeah, the co-op mode’s a blast—player two gets stuck controlling the drone, which sounds lame until you realize it’s basically cheating death while your friend does all the work.
Just don’t expect a smooth ride—the camera’s janky, some levels drag, and good luck 100%-ing this without a guide. But that weird mix of charm and frustration? Pure N64 nostalgia.
